As an agency strategy director working on Heineken’s UCL sponsorship, I briefed and oversaw the development of Star Player, a groundbreaking branded app that invited soccer fans to “raise their game” with real-time interactive challenges.

The game was played by millions globally and awarded a 2011 Cannes Lions Gold award for interactive marketing.

The surrounding integrated campaign delivered Heineken’s highest ever UCL sponsorship awareness and favorability scores in key international markets, maximizing the brand impact from a marquee sports partnership.
